Chuck Kerr is an art director and illustrator living in Los Angeles. The native Texan is currently art director at Variety, designing cover features and conceptualizing creative visual storytelling solutions every week. Chuck was previously Art Director at Sagacity Media in Seattle, redesigning Pacific Northwest-focused publications Visit Seattle, Travel Tacoma + Pierce County, Visit Bellevue, and more. In 2017, he consulted on a major redesign of Seattle Met magazine. From 2006 to 2012, he was art director of the alt-weekly magazine San Antonio Current.
In more than a decade of art direction and design, Chuck has gained accolades from Working Not Working, Society of Publication Designers, Society of News Design, American Society of Magazine Editors, Association of Alternative Newsmedia, and Coverjunkie. When not designing, he can be found behind his drum kit, drawing at Meltdown Comics, or searching for authentic Tex-Mex in LA.
